GAMA Trading and Contracting was established in 1991 as a specialized subcontractor of integrated construction of industrial complexes, office and residential buildings. Due to its emphasis on quality and professionalism, GAMA became the first ISO certified contractor in Egypt in 2006 and continued on to become a “Grade A” contractor in 2008.

In 2010, Triangle Group acquired 50% of GAMA. With that acquisition, new systems of Corporate Governance and Auditing were instated in collaboration with KPMG and Ernst & Young (EY) and a Steering Committee comprised of department heads was formed. The introduction of these internal control systems served to increase efficiencies and streamline GAMA’s operations. This was followed by a capital increase from EGP9 million to EGP55 million over a period of three years, as of 2011.

2013 saw the advent of GAMA’s new management team, who brought with them new ideas and talents. Capitalizing on GAMA’s advantage of its outstanding track record with international FMCGs, the company quickly moved into heavy industries, such as cement, amidst heavy competition. Parallel to that, GAMA began moving into the power sector, working with Alstom as a subcontractor on a large scale sub-station linking Egypt and Saudi Arabia’s power grids. GAMA also works with Cairo Festival City (Al Futtaim) on the construction of its residential project, “Oriana Villas”, and is also working in Alexandria on the construction of Zayan Mall and Towers, Al Maraei’s (Beyti) warehouse project, Carrefour Mall of Egypt (the largest Carrefour retail outlet in Egypt) and its latest project, the construction of Unilever’s Factory in 6th October City.

GAMA also expanded into Oracle based systems with the establishment of its Building Information Modeling (BIM) department, which creates real life 3D models that cover every aspect of its construction projects, allowing it to optimize costs and resources prior to launch.

GAMA collaborates heavily with other Triangle Group owned entities on projects, such as the construction of Cairo Airport’s Maintenance Hangar.
